Dersapp (the "Platform") processes personal data collected through the Platform as described below, acting as data controller under Turkey's Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK, Law No. 6698) and applicable data protection principles for users outside Turkey. The Platform is currently operated by the individual who built and runs it, as a sole proprietorship.
1. Data Controller
The individual operating the Platform is the data controller. You can reach us using the contact details at the end of this page for any request regarding your personal data.
2. Personal Data We Collect
When you create an account: first name, last name, email address, and password (stored encrypted). For scheduling: calendar, availability, lesson notes, and topic information. For homework: assignment content, submitted files, and grading notes. For payments: payment amount, date, and status (the Platform never collects card details). During use: IP address, browser information, and session cookies.
3. Purposes of Processing
Your personal data is processed to create and authenticate your account, provide scheduling/lesson/homework/payment tracking, send reminder notifications to you and your students, improve service quality, and fulfill legal obligations.
4. Legal Basis
Your personal data is processed on the basis of performance of a contract, the data controller's legitimate interest, and the explicit consent you give when creating your account.
5. Data Sharing
Your personal data is shared only with the hosting/server providers and email delivery providers necessary to operate the service, and only to the extent required. Your data is never sold or rented to third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Retention Period
Your personal data is retained for as long as your account is active and for any statutory limitation periods that apply. If you request account deletion, data with no legal retention requirement is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable time.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed, request information about that processing, learn its purpose and whether it's used accordingly, know the third parties it's shared with, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, request deletion or destruction under applicable law, object to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces a legal effect against you, and claim compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing.
